IBM Quantum Systems 2022 - 2026 New York
Industrial design

The IBM Quantum System Two represents a shift from isolated quantum devices to modular, scalable systems, integrating multiple quantum processors with classical infrastructure to support increasingly complex computation. Designed to operate at temperatures near absolute zero, it creates the conditions necessary for fragile quantum states to persist, while its architecture points toward a future of utility-scale quantum computing.

When we initiated the industrial design process for System Two, the adventure was focused on the translation of complex engineering requirements into a coherent physical and experiential form. This work involved coordinating across research, engineering, and design teams to shape how the system is not only built, but perceived by balancing precision, accessibility, and presence. The result is an environment where advanced computation becomes legible through structure, material, and spatial experience, achieving an iconic design for the first quantum hardware of its kind.
